Please reach me at deema.hannoud@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
First sessions are often used to set the foundation of the counselling process. This includes learning more about what brought you to counselling, exploring the different parts of your life, and getting curious about your hopes for what life looks like at the end of counselling. It's also a chance for you to ask any unanswered questions about my style and approach and anything else counselling related. For those that worry the first session will feel awkward and like an intrusive interview, know that the first few sessions are strongly tailored to meet your needs and preferred pace.
I know that life can surprise you and create some necessary changes in your schedule. To accommodate a waitlist and to provide space for other clients who may wish to have a session, 48-hours notice is required for any session changes or cancellations. Cancellations made within 48-hours of your appointment are subject to the full session fee ($135/individual and $200/relationship). Extenuating circumstances will always be taken into consideration, so please contact me should you be concerned.
Part of what makes counselling work is the confidentiality. Everything you share with me is kept private with the exception of the following:
Confidentiality is heavily discussed during our first session. You can also contact me directly for further information on these limits.
Most health insurance/extended medical benefit plans partially or fully cover Registered Clinical Counsellors (RCCs). Upon payment of each session, I provide you with a receipt and my RCC number for your claim. If you are unsure what your coverage includes, please refer to your coverage plan to confirm whether our sessions would be covered.
Payments are currently accepted via credit card and e-transfer. Details are outlined in the consent form and discussed during our first session.
